What Does Your Mirror Reflect? 5

When you look in the mirror, you see the outward appearance that your mirror reflects. Today, stop believing what the mirror tells you about yourself and let's search what the Bible tells us about ourselves. What does our heart reflect by being a daughter of the King?

“Mirror, mirror on the wall, you do not know me at all.” Is that what we usually say when looking at our reflection? As we put on our lipstick everyday, do we trust that the person looking back at us in our compact mirror is really what we look like?

Well, love it or not, the mirror does not lie. It shows us exactly what we look like. It reveals who we are externally. We know what we look like, therefore who we are, because our mirror shows us.

What about who we are inside? Is there an internal mirror for us to look at and determine who we are in our hearts, minds and lives? If our heart belongs to God and we are submitted to Him, then the answer is so yes!

The Bible is filled with explanations, promises and descriptions of who we are in Him. Yet, if we do not spend time in His word, we can have a very incorrect view of ourselves. The enemy will use our wrong views as a foothold against us. He will try his hardest to keep us from living a free and victorious life in our salvation.

Today, I want to share with you five of God’s declarations over your life. Read these promises, memorize these verses and claim these blessings. They are all for you, sister!

1. You Are A Child of God and One Day You Will Be Like Him

1 John 3:1-2 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

Is there any greater joy than to know that God looks at you with the love and adoration of a father? Actually, yes, there is a greater joy! The joy of knowing that one day you will have the likeness, heart and perfection of God. For the sister yearning for a father’s love, you have unconditional, perfect love offered to you in God. Let Him hold and comfort you as He so badly longs to do. To the woman who is hearing Satan’s endless lies about being useless, girl, drown him out with this verse! If you have given your heart to God, you are going to be resembling Him one day while Satan is roasting alive in his own flames!

2. You Are Capable

Philippians 4:13- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Sister, you are qualified and able to carry forth in the work that God has called you to do. Christ is alive and His spirit is living in you. Do not believe for a second that you can not, you are not or you are unable to. The Lord will empower you in a mighty way to do His work and His will. All He needs from you is faith and obedience.

3. You Have the Power to Conquer

Romans 8:37 In all things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

This is my favorite one on our list! Go back to verse 31 and read what “all things” are. It is a pretty serious list of problems, yet Paul says even with all those things going on, they not only conquered, but they were even more so because of Christ in them. That same promise is true for you, sister! You are a conqueror in Christ. That means that no addiction, no abuser, no past, no manner of evil can ever defeat you. You belong to God and He has enabled you to be triumphant over the things designed to hold you back.

4. You Can Boldly Talk To God

Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

God is not the Wizard of Oz complete with a booming voice and fireworks. Of course, He is more than able to produce those things, but He is a gentle God. He not only wants you to come to Him without fear, but He gives you permission to approach Him. God desires to give you good things, sister! Things like mercy and grace when you have sinned against Him or made a horrible mistake. Things like help, the holy help of a might God when you are in over your head. No matter what has happened or what you have done, God loves you! Despite your sin, He loves you and will help you. Will He make everything magically be right again? Probably not, but He does promise to help you and to never leave you. Oh, what a comfort that is!

5. You Have A Guaranteed Inheritance

Ephesians 1:13-14 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of salvation. When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession-to the praise of His glory.

5 verses for women of God that tell us who we are in Christ.

If your life belongs to God, you are going to inherit the kingdom of God. Let that sink in…inherit the Kingdom of God! Right now, you are bearing the seal of Christ and waiting for the day that we will all be redeemed when God calls us home. That means that no matter how insignificant or meager you may think your livelihood is on this earth, you have the inheritance of a lifetime, literally, waiting for you!  You are God’s possession just like the birds of the air and the flowers of the fields. If God knows what goes on with them, how much more is He concerned with you? God has marked your life with a seal stating that you are off limits to Satan. He is caring for you as a prized possession right now and He has a legacy of love that He will bestow on you one day.

Darling, if you are struggling today, I sincerely hope that you will find hope, encouragement and strength in these verses. Know who you are in Christ. Write these verses down and keep them with you. Pull them out as a weapon against the enemy the next time he shows up to antagonize and manipulate. You have the living word of God on your side, so use it liberally!

The next time that you are not sure what you look like and who you are, do not head to your bathroom mirror. Instead, pull out theses powerful verses. Let them be as a mirror to you. Allow them to reflect back to you who it is that you really are because you are a child of God, a daughter of the King!

Liked what you read? Know of a sister who could use a spiritual pick-me-up today? If your answer is yes (and I really hope it is!) then please share this article! Sweet Diane, you bless my heart as always! God is stirring in me a real desire to reach out to women who are living in bondage. Bondage of the past, bondage of how others perceive them and bondage of how they view themselves. It is my heart’s desire that these women stop believing the lies that Satan keeps whispering in their ears The Bible is so full of promises and descriptions of who we are in Christ and that is the mirror that we should be measuring our lives by. Thank you for your kind words and encouragement, sister!
